12" finished block

INGREDIENTS

From Fabric A, Cut:
(10) 2½” squares
(1) 5½” square cut in half on
both diagonals to form (4) triangles

If using yardage: cut (1) 5 ½” strip by width of fabric. Cut into (1) 5 ½” square and (10) 2½” squares.

From Fabric B, Cut:
(10) 2½” squares

From Fabric C, Cut:
(1) 5½” squarecut in half on both diagonals to form (4) triangles

From Fabric D, Cut:
(2) 5” squares cut in half on the diagonal to form (4) triangles

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1. MAKE 4-PATCHES

Combine (2) 2½” Fabric A with (2) 2½” Fabric B as shown to create a 4½” unfinished four patch unit.

Make (5) units.

STEP 2. MAKE TRIANGLE UNITS

Sew together a Fabric A and Fabric C triangle paying close attention to the orientation as shown.

STEP 3. ASSEMBLE STAR POINTS

Combine units from Step 2 with Fabric D triangle to make the unit shown. Trim block to 4½”, taking care to line up the center seam with the 45 degree mark on the ruler.

 Make (4) units.

ASSEMBLE THE BLOCK

Join block units as shown. Trim block to 12½” unfinished size.
