Bee-utiful QAL {Block 4 - Bee Humble}
Bee-utiful QAL {Block 4 - Bee Humble}
NOTE: This quilt-a-long has wrapped up. If you are looking for the full set of embroidery patterns and quilt assembly instructions, please visit the final post {here}.
I'm not gonna lie. I have never seen -- in person, in real life -- what we always see represented as a beehive.
Have you?
My husband, brother-in-law, and I were sitting in my studio, admiring this quilt hanging on my design wall. We all agreed that we've never actually seen this type of hive in person. I was telling my brother-in-law how the addition of the entrance on this hive came later on, after my husband told me that it looked like a steaming pile of ...you know.
Nice, huh? 😒 (Don't judge him TOO harshly; he was just talking about the hive itself, not my work.)
Then I showed my sister-in-law, and she suggested the addition of the door or entrance to make it look less, ahem, pile-like. LOL. Oh my, I never thought there'd be this much potty-talk while writing about quilts! And, for what it's worth, I've never thought that's what it looked like.
Anyway, as usual, I've made y'all a PDF pattern (download here), and video tutorial to teach you how to do a lazy daisy stitch, which is really just a single "link" of a chain stitch. So nothing too complicated.
Lastly, if you're participating in this quilt-a-long and haven't joined the Facebook group, you're missing out (Click here to join)! We have over 600 members sharing their work, answering your questions, and just having an all-around good time! And share your work on Instagram, too. Happy stitching!
